There was no better way to end the first Winter term of 2021 than a classic SMA Christmas Extravaganza concert! Students and staff donned Santa hats and tinsel to enjoy one of the first live concerts for many in over a year - and spirits were certainly high with an excellent parent and public turnout.
There were jolly performances of Christmas carols by the Junior Wind, String and Choir Ensembles, as well as standout solo pieces that showcased the talent of our students! There were also larger ensemble performances from the Concert Band, Senior & Intermediate Strings Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra showing off what the students had been working on during the term, including Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter, the theme from The Incredibles, Mozart's Divertimento in F major, and the first movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C major.
Check out a few pictures of the concert by our new Marketing Officer, Samantha, below, and don't forget to follow us on social media and on our Eventbrite page to keep up to date of our 2022 concerts!
We wish you a happy and healthy new year and we can't wait to see you at a future SMA concert!
