Sara is the Head of Cultural Engagement at the University of Sheffield based in the City, Culture & Public Engagement team. The team works collaboratively with cultural partners in Sheffield and the region to develop cultural vibrancy in our cities, towns and communities and demonstrate the region’s pulling power as a great place to live, work and invest. She is also the Festival Manager of the much loved Off the Shelf Festival of Words creating a full circle as she was part of the team that started the festival back in the early 90’s. She worked for many years as a freelance Cultural Producer across the North including leading on the Galvanize Festival of Contemporary Metal Design & Innovation in Sheffield.


In previous roles Sara ran the International Concert Season at Sheffield City Hall and was Programme Manager at The Bridgewater Hall feeding a deep love of live music experiences and a passion for bringing artists and audiences together. For many years she ran her own production company working with clients across the North to imagine new creative initiatives and grow cultural experiences for people and places.
